To shake things up a little this week I've decided to interview Miss Courtney Pietsch, the pint-sized pocket-rocket behind the fashion and lifestyle blog 'Stay Peachy'.
MOS: So, Courtney... You don't mind if I call you Court right?
Courtney: Hey, look, it's different to Peachy so I'll take it haha
MOS: Fantastic, so lets start out with a cliche question: What got you into blogging in the first place?
Court: When I got out of school, I just had a random idea to start up a website where I could talk about fashion. A few weeks went by and then Peachy Style began as a place for me to share my love for fashion with everyone. To begin with I had no idea about the world of fashion blogging. It was my brother in-law who told me about it all and helped me turn my website into the blog it is today!
MOS: I can 100% relate to that, I'm still coming to terms with the whole blogging thing and getting my head around it... Unfortunately as we both know, blogging doesn't quite pay the bills like a usual job, what do you do in addition to blogging?
Court: I have just recently landed the dream role as a footwear designer for Skin Footwear and I'm also managing the social media as well - I really can't complain!
MOS: Hey that's pretty damn awesome! How did you manage to do that?
Court: It all started in September 2014 when I had the opportunity to intern for a footwear company and I built an on-going relationship with them. Over time, I found myself working as a paid intern, an official employee and recently have been given the privilege to design Skin Footwear, which I am incredible excited to do!
MOS: Glad to see the hard work has paid off. So why exactly are we staying peachy? Is there more to the name than simply a delicious stone fruit?
Court: I remember the night so clearly when Stay Peachy came to life. I was writing a blog post based on personal development and I had ended with the tagline 'Stay Peachy', it didn't click till that moment how much meaning this had to me. I had spent so many years talking about my peachy style but realised how I was so easily influenced by the Melbourne culture around me - especially the black uniform. Over the last year, I have grown significantly and found this was the perfect way to symbolise my realisation of how important it is to stay true to yourself.
MOS: Stay true to yourself, that really is a good quote to live by, it's a pity that so many people out there now, especially with the rise of the digital world, do lose track of their own identity. Ok I'm going to wrap this up before this conversation goes from zero to 100 real quick. Thanks heaps for taking the time to both chat and collaborate with me!
Court: No worries, it was my pleasure! Don't forget to Stay Peachy! ;)
