As if the recent Uniqlo x Ines collaboration wasn't enough, the Japanese powerhouse of fashion has stepped it up a notch once again with their most recent capsule and first ever collaboration with renowned British fashion label J.W. Anderson.
J.W. Anderson was founded by a man by the same name in 2008 and was quick to rise through the ranks and establish itself as a force to be reckoned with. J.W Anderson has had a history of collaborating with the best in the business, and in 2015 took out the men's and women's brand of the year titles from the British Fashion Council. Not bad, not bad at all!
This latest drop amalgamates the best of the British with Uniqlo's 'Lifewear' motto, creating a unique offering of garments that manage to be both wardrobe staples and statement pieces. These pieces are easily wearable and work well with anything and everything in your existing wardrobe.
The Trench coat, which is arguably one of the most British garments going around is fully reversible, allowing yo to rock it as a full tartan if you are feeling out there, or just in regular tan if you're a little more reserved. The cuff details are what really drew me to the piece as I love adding a slight pop of colour to a look. The trench was my starting point, then I paired it up with a blue and white block shirt and an off white cable knit sweater, both are quite traditional and easy to wear with anything; then I decided to make things a little more interesting! I threw on a pair of wide leg pin-stripe pants, I love blurring the line of sartorial and casual, and I feel like these definitely did the trick. I'd be keen to rock the pants with a crisp white shirt as well for an effortless summer ensemble, so expect to see them more over the next few months!
