It's safe to say that Sujain, the gentleman behind Melbourne Watch Co. absolutely hit the nail on the head with his third watch release, the 'Portsea'. With striking blue hands and other nautical inspired features, the 'Portsea' has a striking resemblance to that of a Deckwatch, a timepiece that was frequently used by officers in the navy and on merchant ships in the mid 19th century.
To truly pay homage to its Nautical heritage, I decided to dress the part with a Navy blazer from Hardy Aimes paired with some slacks from Topman and blue Loafers from Bared Footwear. And if that wasn't enough I accessorised with an Anchor pocket square from OTAA and a Ship's wheel lapel pin from S-Gents.
What's somewhat more striking than the watch itself is that it's price point. For a watch of this calibre, a price-tag of less than $1,000 is almost unheard of! If you are someone looking to step up your watch game, but aren't quite ready to part with 3 months wages on an IWC, these guys are the perfect option. After something a little different? It's worth checking out the full array of watches they have to offer on their website.
